SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday, July 1, 2005, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rodney Tedford, minister of the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Carter was born September 29, 1920 in Gordonville. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1927. She married W. A. Carter in November of 1940 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1988. She was secretary of Carter Sand & Gravel, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was voted "Woman of the Year" on two different occasions. She served on the Board of Directors of the Community Day Care Center, and of the Salvation Army for many years. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross for over 25 years, and a volunteer with the Pampa Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the Pampa Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star, and an active supporter of the 4-H.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Bill Carter & wife Deana of Pampa. 4 Brothers: Kenneth Bond of Rockwall, Sam Bond of Mansfield, Jim Bond of Houston, and Jerry Bond of Amarillo. 1 Sister: Jean Godfrey of Bryan. 3 Grandchildren: Tammy Pickering, Billy Carter & wife Carolyn, David Carter & wife Brenda, all of Pampa. 8 Great-Grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Pampa Senior Citizens Center, 500 W.
