SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of the United Methodist Church of McLean, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Imel was born April 3, 1934 in Liberal, Kansas. He had been a lifelong resident of Pampa. He attended Pampa schools before going to the New Mexico Military Academy, graduating in 1952. He received a B. A. degree in business from North Texas State University. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, spending most of his military career in Paris. He was vice president of the Citizens Bank & Trust and owner of the Great Plains Gas Company, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a member of the Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 AF & AM.SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Michelle Smith & husband Robert of Amarillo, and Laura-Marie Finley & husband Todd of Owings Mills, Maryland. 1 Son: Jerrod Imel & wife Marcie of Pampa. 7 Grandchildren: Justin Anderson of Ada, Oklahoma, Amanda Anderson of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Kelsey Anderson of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Cassidy Smith and Jordan Smith, both of Amarillo, Emma Finley of Owings Mills, Maryland, and Tucker Imel of Pampa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Laura Imel, and 1 daughter, Stephania Givens.
