SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. John Westman, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Harmon was born January 28, 1912 in Wheeler County, to Albert & Manie Converse. She was baptized as a Methodist by her father in 1917. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1912. She moved around to13 different states in her lifetime, including Long Island, New York and Compton, California. She worked at Woolsworth in Pampa and Corpus Christi as a sales clerk. She married Augustus Darryl Harmon on October 21, 1933 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1997 in Paducah, Kentucky. During World War II, she worked in a plant that dehydrated vegetables that were to be sent overseas to the soldiers, and she also worked in a toilet seat factory. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. SURVIVORS: 1 Sister: Carrie Rose Converse Hughes of Pampa. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Frank Converse, Ralph Converse, George Converse and Archie Converse, and 3 sisters, Mary Venice Converse Cole and Alice Converse Welch, and June Converse Cook.
