SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Howard was born on Aug. 1, 1914 in Wellington. She had been a resident of Pampa for 40 years and had previously lived in Perryton, Lefors, and McLean. She married Robert DeKalb Howard on Feb. 22, 1932 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1996. She worked on the family farm and in school cafeterias in Perryton and Pampa. Ruth's great loves were her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and love for her family and friends. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for 40 years where she taught Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maudie May Hurst Simpson, in 1915, by her parents, Jim and Edna Simpson, her brothers, Bill Simpson, Cecil Simpson, and Lloyd Simpson, and by 2 great granddaughters, Morgan Swift and Hope Dalton.SURVIVORS: Son: Don Robert Howard and wife Jane of San Antonio; daughter: Joy Lynn Dalton and husband Robert, Sr. of San Angelo; sister: Jeanette Kennedy of Pampa; 5 brothers: Floyd Simpson of Wichita Falls; Edward Simpson of Purcell, OK; W. C. Simpson and Frank Simpson, both of McLean; and Kenneth Simpson of Hobbs, NM; 5 grandchildren: David Howard and wife Regina of Lefors; Doug Howard and wife Candy of The Woodlands; Robyn Swift, Ryan Dalton, and Robert Dalton, Jr. and wife Ashley all of San Angelo; 9 great grandchildren: Stormy Howard, Dusty Howard, and Monroe Howard, all of Lefors; Matthew Howard and Danny Howard, both of The Woodlands; Taylor Tubbs, Marissa Swift, Haley Dalton, and Jessica Dalton, all of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.MEMORIALS: Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 513 E.
