SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, with Rev. Barry Loving, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Moore was born to James Roy Moore, Sr. and Minta Masters Moore on October 19, 1921 in Pampa, and he was one of eight children. Married Dorothy Cummings Dec. 13, 1945 in Pampa. She preceded him in death on July 8, 1987. He later married Thelma Gray on February 4, 1990 in Miami. He was a veteran of U. S. Army Air Corps, serving in North Africa and Europe during WWII. He was a farmer and antique dealer for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, leather work, furniture making, and fishing. He was a volunteer at Pampa Senior Citizens for 5 years. He was known as the "Candy Man" because he always had candy for everyone and had a smile or joke to share. He was a lifelong member of First Christian Church where he was baptized at the age of 12.SURVIVORS: Wife: Thelma of the home; daughter: Charlotte Walker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; son: Gerald Moore of Pampa; step-son: Jim Gray of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother: Jewel Moore of Pampa; 3 sisters: Doris Shelley of Katy, Texas, Fleeta Clark of Winslow, Arkansas, and Loydell Sparks of Spearman, Texas. 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
