SERVICES: Vigil will be at 5:30 PM Friday, April 8, 2005, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2005, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo, with Msgr. Raymond Crosier, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Galvin was born on Dec. 4, 1913 in Amarillo and was a 1930 graduate of Amarillo High School. She received a B. A. degree from West Texas State University, a master of fine arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley, and a Ph. D. in art education from Penn St. University. She was an art educator for the Amarillo Independent School District and was an art professor at West Texas State, retiring in 1978. She married Thomas C. Galvin on June 19, 1943 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1981. She lived in Amarillo all her life before moving to Pampa in 1987. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Alpha Chi Honor Society, the Pampa Retired Teachers Association, and she was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi.She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, a niece, and a great nephew.SURVIVORS: 2 nephews: Lee Burke and wife Carolyn of Dallas and Bill Cheyne of Cedar Park; 4 nieces: Beverly Strohl of San Diego, CA; Jane Potts and husband Bill of Pampa; Marilyn Salter of Edmonds, WA; and Nancy Farmer of Tulsa, OK; numerous great nephews and great nieces; and very special friends: Gary and Donna Starnes, Shannon Horton, Sherry Bolch, Katy Roe, and Robin Fritts, all of Pampa.SPECIAL NOTICE: The family expresses special appreciation and thanks to the Meredith House, Coronado Healthcare Center, Pampa Regional Medical Center, and Dr. Bhatia for their loving and high quality care during her lengthy illness.MEMORIALS: St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 2301 N.
