He had been a resident of Skellytown since 1946. He married Dorothy Evans on October 15, 1942 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 2000. He and his brother, Clyde Horner, were co-owners and operators of Horner Brothers Grocery in Skellytown for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Skellytown Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Skellytown Lions Club since 1952.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Peggy Ross & husband Larry of Spring. 1 Son: Tommy Horner of Mineral Wells. 1 Grandson: Larry Ross II and wife Jo Anna of Spring.
