He and his beloved wife of 60 years, Margarethe (Gretel) Specht were married in Frankfurt in 1939. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2000. He lived a very full life, one that coincided with the most interesting chapters of the twentieth century. He led his family on a risky and courageous move from Germany in 1953 to follow the American dream. He specifically chose Pampa over another equal opportunity in a large east coast city. Mr. Specht was a doting husband and proud father. He was an accomplished engineer and executive for the Cabot Corporation for many decades. He loved the people of Pampa, traveling the world, card games with friends, fishing, and crafting with his hands. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: U. H. (Woody) Specht, a retired F.B.I. agent, an active attorney and sitting judge of Dallas, and Randy Specht, an executive in the power industry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Specht was proud of his four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.MEMORIALS: First Presbyterian Church Book of Remembrance, 525 N. Gray, Pampa, Texas 79065, or to a favorite charity.
