SERVICES: 2:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2005, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with John Curry, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery, with military honors courtesy Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Lively was born March 29, 1920 in Groom to Allye W. & Travis C. Lively. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1928, graduating from Pampa High School in 1936. He enrolled at Texas A&M University in 1937. He was active in the Calvary and was a member of the polo team. His studies qualified him for aviation cadet school, and he was accepted Christmas of 1941. He went into cadet training and was in the Army Air Corps 4 ½ years, logging over 3000 hours. He flew multi-engine aircraft, including the B-24's and the B-29's. He continued his association with the military by serving 25 years in the U. S. Air Force active reserve. He retired as a Lt. Colonel after 25 years. On April 21, 1942, he married Elaine Tipton in Corsicana. This year, they would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Mr. Lively was a member of the Pampa Rotary Club. Rotary was an important part of his life, and he accrued over forty-one years of perfect attendance. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeanne Dews.SURVIVORS: Wife: Elaine Lively of the home. 1 Son: Clay Lively & wife Mary of Round Rock. 1 Daughter: Jan Lively of San Antonio. 4 Grandchildren: Michael Lively & wife Dr. Karen Lively of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jennifer Lively of Amarillo, Courtney Trautweiler & husband Gus of Osceola, Missouri, and Whitney Andrew Beauman of San Antonio. 1 Great-Granddaughter: Megan Trautweiler of Osceola, Missouri. 1 Sister: Patricia White & husband Jack of Amarillo. 1 Brother: Lamar Lively & wife Phyllis of Amarillo. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.MEMORIALS: Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, & Affiliates, 600 Southwest 11th Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79101.
