Rick Parnell, associate pastor, and Dr. Derrell Monday, pastor of First Baptist Church in Vernon, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Nokes was born April 15, 1933 at Welda, Kansas. He was a resident of Pampa since 1968. He had worked for Cities Service Gas Company as an engineer for 37 years, retiring in 1988. Married to Helen Poole Worley at Pampa on March 4, 1977. Member of the Delphin Masonic Lodge at Garnett, Kansas. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and Adult 6 Men's Sunday School Class.SURVIVORS: Wife: Helen of the home; 2 sons: Craig and David Nokes both of Amarillo; 1 daughter: Alicia Gritz of El Dorado, Kansas; mother: Bertha Ellington of Richmond, Kansas; 2 step-daughters: Terri Broaddus of Santa Fe, Texas and Tamme Pike of Shamrock, Texas; 1 step-son: Larry Worley of Santa Fe, Texas; 2 brothers: Orval Nokes of Tonganoxie, Kansas and Larry Nokes of Pittsburg, Kansas; 3 sisters: Lorna Breckeisen of Jean, Nevada, Ann Osborn of Topeka, Kansas and Jeanette Mullins of Olathe, Kansas; 12 grandchildren;MEMORIALS: May be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund , 513 E. Francis Ave. Pampa, Texas 79065 or Odyssey Hospice, 1000 Jefferson St. Amarillo, Texas 79101.
