Manning of Levelland, and Tracy Byrd, her grandson, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Carver was born on October 30, 1906 in Snyder, Texas. She was raised in Snyder, and her mother and siblings moved to Abilene after the death of her father. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene in 1927. She married Dr. E. Douglas Carver on Aug. 23, 1927 in Abilene. Their first pastorate was in White Deer, and other pastorates included First Baptist Church of McPherson, Kansas, First Baptist Church of Harlingen, and University Baptist Church in Abilene. Mrs. Carver moved to Pampa in July of 1942 where Dr. Carver was pastor of First Baptist Church until his death in May of 1966. She was a wonderful help mate to her husband Doug in all of his ministries. She began playing the piano at church when she was 12 years old, and she was pianist at First Baptist Church of Pampa for many years. Mrs. Carver taught Sunday school for many years, and served in whatever capacity she was needed. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. She continued to bless people with her music until she reached 92 years of age. She greatly loved children and touched the hearts of many of them with her love and care. She loved the Lord, and she loved her family. She was a good and faithful servant.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Carolyn Byrd and husband Bobby of Angel Fire, NM and Gwen Loerwald of Pampa; 2 grandsons: Robert Byrd and wife Linda and Tracy Byrd and wife Lisa, all of Canyon; a granddaughter: Lynlee Mullins of Perryton; and 7 great grandchildren.MEMORIALS: may be made to a favorite charity.
