SERVICES: Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2:00 PM in Miami Cemetery in Miami, Texas with Rev. Mark A. Arrington, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Locke was born September 25, 1927 in Alamogordo, NM. He married Betty Dyar Sugar on June 26, 1962 in Pampa. He was a member of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, White Deer Lions Club and First Baptist Church of White Deer. He was a generous donor to area museums. He was a trustee with the Panhandle Square House Museum and an advisor to the Roberts County Museum as well as the White Deer Land Museum in Pampa. He also worked with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was a Golden Gloves boxing champion. He farmed and ranched in Carson and Armstrong counties for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Sierra.SURVIVORS: wife: Betty of the home. 2 sons: Bruce Douglas Locke of Tulsa, OK and Larry Martin Locke of Dallas; a stepson: Gary Sugar of Pampa, TX; a stepdaughter: Carol Ann Martin of San Saba, Tx. 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister: Betty Locke Arrington and a brother: Wallace Lynn Locke.MEMORIALS: favorite charity.
