SERVICES: 10:30 AM Thursday, December 16, 2004, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Revs. Ernie & Suzie Wilkinson, deacons of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Nichols was born August 12, 1922 in Spur. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1945. He received his BA and MBA degrees from West Texas State University in Canyon and did post graduate work at the University of Texas. He married Patricia Bottoms on August 3, 1947 in Quanah. He was a teacher, assistant principal and principal for the Pampa Independent School District, and he was assigned as the first principal at Robert E. Lee Jr. High School. Mr. Nichols was a member of the PCTA, TSTA, and NEA. He was an active member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and was a former member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club.SURVIVORS: Wife: Patricia Nichols of the home. 1 Sister: Rita Groves of Roaring Springs. Brother-in-Law: Malcolm Bottoms of Quanah. Several nieces & nephews.MEMORIALS: BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, Texas 79065, or a favorite charity.
