Paul Nachtigall, pastor of the Highland Baptist Church, officiating.BURIAL: 2:00 PM Friday, November 26, 2004, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Keeton was born December 27, 1899 in Red River County, Texas. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1941. Upon moving to Pampa, he worked for Cabot, and later worked for the City of Pampa as a general laborer, retiring in 1956. He also farmed in the McLean area. He married Nellie Headrick on June 18, 1921 in Hillsboro. She preceded him in death on February 1, 1992. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church. December 27, 2003, his 103rd birthday, was proclaimed "George Keeton Day" by the mayor of Pampa, and he was presented with the "Key to the City of Pampa". He was known by everyone for his smile. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: J. R. Keeton and Doyle Keeton, both of Pampa. 1 Daughter: Helen Danner of Pampa. 14 Grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
