SERVICES: Private graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Skellytown, with Pastor Ray O'Quin, a Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Quarles was born November 29, 1928 in Gray County. He married Bernice Quarles in 1983 in Miami. She preceded him in death on January 1, 1996. He had been a resident of Skellytown since 1987, moving from Montana. He retired from Carson County as a heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown. SURVIVORS: 3 Sons: Greg Quarles of Billings, Montana, Gaylen Quarles of Rancho Cordova, California, and Leslie Quarles of Spring Valley, California. 2 Daughters: Georganne Miller of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Shari Lippman of Sandy, Utah. 1 Step-Son: Billy W. Quarles of Amarillo. 3 Brothers: H. P. Quarles & wife Roberta of Landers, Wyoming, Leslie Wayne Quarles & wife Judy of Jeffrey, Wyoming, and Johnny H. Quarles & wife Lajauna of Lubbock. 3 Sisters: Clara Hupp and Frankie Derr & husband Bill, all of Pampa, and Eddie Mae Sargent & husband Walter of Baytown. 1 Sister-in-Law: Claudia Quarles of Pampa. 12 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Winford Quarles, and 2 sisters, Marie Howard and Burtie Gallegly. MEMORIALS: to a favorite charity.
