Jim Powell, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Gist was born May 30, 1921 in Byers. She married O. C. "Jack" Gist on November 16, 1941 in Walters, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1988. She retired from the Pampa Independent School District as a cafeteria worker after 17 years of service. She was a charter member of the Hobart Baptist Church, a member of the TEL Sunday School Class, and a children's Sunday School class teacher for over 30 years.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Phillip Gist & wife Marita of Pensacola, Florida. 3 Daughters: Gayle Steward & husband Kenneth of Pampa, Karen Leatherman & husband Wayne of Killeen, and Dianna Knight & husband Ellis of Howardwick. 2 Brothers: Joe Wellington & wife Kitty of Wichita Falls, and Lee Wellington & wife Nancy of Tuscon, Arizona. 3 Sisters: Johnnie Parkinson & husband Frank, and Shirley Mann & husband Barry, all of Wichita Falls, and Olene Mencznski & husband Richard of Killeen. 9 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren.
