SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 22, 2004, at Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of the Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Military rites are accorded by the U. S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Heard was born July 14, 1922 in Dean, Texas. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1934. He married Selma McPherson on November 25, 1953. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1985 as a gas measurement supervisor, after 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW Post 1657. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II with the 82nd Sea Bees. He was a former Boy Scout leader.SURVIVORS: Wife: Selma Heard of the home. 1 Son: Gerald M. Heard of Pampa. 1 Brother: Ferrel L.
