Bob Davis, pastor of the Progressive Baptist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 15, 2004, at the Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Spencer, Oklahoma, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Williams was born June 11, 1920 in Mart, Texas. He married Katie Johnson on August 25, 1947 in Mart. He had been a resident of Pampa for 26 years, moving from Denton. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service of the Federal Government in 1979. He was baptized at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Mart, and he attended the Progressive Baptist Church in Pampa. He was involved in neighborhood and community services. He was a Pampa Meals on Wheels volunteer. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II, serving during the Normandy Invasion and in the European Theater. SURVIVORS: Wife: Katie Williams of the home. 2 Sons: Gene Williams of Austin, and Wendell Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, B. F. Williams, and 2 sisters, Edna Miller and Faye Bacy.MEMORIALS: The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, N.
