SERVICES: 10:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2004, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rodney Tedford, minister of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, and Arvia Willingham, Church of Christ minister, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Gipson was born on April 6, 1919 in Guthrie, Texas. He was a resident of Pampa from 1948 until 2003, when he moved to Palestine. He married Margie Williams on Dec. 23, 1947 in Clovis, NM. She preceded him in death in 1991. He later married Daphne Lincycomb on May 11, 1996 in Pampa. He was a self-employed barber. He was a member of the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, the Pampa Optimist Club, and Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving as a boiler technician in World War II.SURVIVORS: Wife: Daphne Gipson of Palestine; 2 daughters: Priscilla McLearen of Pampa and Pamela Wheeler of Dodge City, KS; 2 stepsons: Dan Rose of Palestine and Jack Rose of Pampa; 1 brother: Cecil Gipson of Littlefield; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
