He had been a resident of Pampa most of his life. He married Eldora Bloomingdale on June 30, 1956 in Weatherford. He worked for Cabot Machinery Division as the chief quality control fabricator for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He owned and operated Willis Welding Works from 1994 until the time of his death. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He served on the Cabot Employees Credit Union Board of Directors, the Gray County Association of Retarded Citizens Board, and the City of Pampa Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. He was a member of the Briarwood Full Gospel Church where he served on the Board of Directors. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Gene Willis, 2 brothers, Bobby Joe Willis and Jackie Lynn Willis, and 1 step-sister, Jane Boykin. SURVIVORS: Wife: Eldora Willis of the home. Step-Mother: Alta J. Willis of Pampa. 2 Daughters: Cela Vivian Roachelle, and Sharon Mae Strickland & husband Ken, all of Pampa. 1 Son: Joe Don Willis & wife Dana of Irving. 2 Brothers: Raymond Rudolph Willis & wife Shirley of Turo, Iowa, and Ernest Edward Willis & wife Barbara of Pampa. 1 Half-Sister: Mary Helen Movis & husband Dale. 1 Half-Brother: Clarence Willis of Una, South Carolina. 1 Step-Sister: Judy Willis of Pampa. 3 Step-Brothers: Donald Hild & wife Betty Joe of Una, South Carolina, David Hild & wife Kay of Weatherford, and Fred Hild & wife Donna of Houston. 6 Grandchildren.
