SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 18, 2004, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. J. C. Burt, a longtime family friend, and associate pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Wilbanks was born January 30, 1917 in Pampa to Mr. & Mrs. Milas Winkler. She was the granddaughter of Mr. W. M. & Tillie Castleberry, old time settlers of Pampa. She lived all her life in Pampa, was a member of the First United Methodist Church and graduated from Pampa High School in 1935. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, graduating in 1939 with BBA and BS degrees. While attending West Texas State University, she was a member of the Delta Chi Sorority and president of the Cousins Hall Dormitory. She taught high school in Spearman for two years and was an elementary teacher in Pampa for 12 years. She enjoyed arts and crafts and pursued these hobbies well into her senior years. Her grandparents, mother and father, and a brother, Wayne Winkler, preceded her in death.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: C. Shane Wilbanks & wife Paula G. Wilbanks of Grapevine. 3 Grandchildren: Shaye Wilbanks Kopec and her husband Chris Kopec, P. Chad Wilbanks and his wife Rachelle Wilbanks, and D. Shane Wilbanks and his wife Ashley Wilbanks. 5 Great-Grandchildren: Zach and Alex Kopec, Garrett and Reagan Wilbanks, and Landon Wilbanks.The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.
