SERVICES: 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, and Rev. C. W. Parker, pastor, officiating.BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Greene was born November 5, 1936 in Pampa where he had been a lifelong resident. He was a 1955 graduate of Pampa High School where he played football and ran track. He married Kathleen Dodds on March 6, 1959 in Pampa. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church, and was a longtime Gray County farmer and rancher. He was Gray County Commissioner from 1986 until 2002. He was a former director of the Top O' Texas Rodeo Association and former Kid Pony Show chairman for many years. He was an organizer and president of the Top O' Texas Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys. He was a volunteer for Pampa Meals on Wheels, former member of the White Deer Land Museum Board, and was Top O' Texas Livestock Show superintendent for 20 years. He was past president of the Gray County Farm Bureau, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Ruth Greene, a brother, Hunky Greene, and a sister Betty Goode. SURVIVORS: Wife: Kathleen Greene of the home. 1 Son: Thad Greene & wife Tammy of Wisdom, Montana. 2 Daughters: Jamie Greene of Pampa, and Amie Reid & husband Ben of Amarillo. 1 Brother: Dick Greene of San Diego, California. 1 Sister: Nellie McDonough of Happy. 8 Grandchildren: Cecilia Evans & husband Clint of College Station, Casey Coleman and Cody Lee, both of Pampa, Keeley Reid and Corben Reid, both of Amarillo, Bobby Ka Greene, Sally Mae Greene, and Annie Greene, all of Wisdom, Montana. 2 Nieces: Tammy Didway & husband Chris, and Tammy Greene, all of Pampa. 1 Nephew: Will Greene of Pampa.
