Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Clark was born June 24, 1908 in Iowa Park, Texas, to Charles Haley & Ida Smith Clark. He moved to Wichita Falls in 1916 where he graduated from high school in 1926. He graduated from Wichita Falls Jr. College in 1928 and went to work for the Trinity Farm Construction Company at Bonham, Texas. In the fall of 1928, he entered Southern Methodist University in the School of Engineering. He received his pilot's license in 1929 at Dallas Love Field when it was a grass strip with 3 barbed-wire fences, and he continued to fly until 1995. In 1930, he bought a portion of the Roberts County Ranch and in 1931, he took over the job as ranch foreman for the next 16 years. He married Adelia Sue Cowan on December 25, 1932 in Ennis. She preceded him in death in December of 1992. He served as Roberts County Commissioner in both Pct. 1 and Pct. 4 for a number of years. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Southern Methodist University, the Texas State Aviation Association, the OX-5 Aviation Pioneers, and the UFO's ? United Flying Octogenarians. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Miami.SURVIVORS: 3 Sons: Robert A. Clark, Charles Clark, and William H. Clark, all of Miami. 1 Daughter: Susan Keesee of Miami. 3 Sisters: Martha Barron of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and twins, Grace Fender of Amarillo and Ruth Pryor of Dallas. 1 Nephew: Gene Clark of Amarillo. 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Roberts Co.
