SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Steven Taylor, pastor of the Pearl Baptist Church of Pearl, Texas, officiating.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Taylor was born January 12, 1926 in Walters, Oklahoma. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1932 where he was a self-employed mechanic for 46 years. He played semi-pro baseball for Magnolia Oil in Pampa. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. He married Dene Curtis on July 6, 1944 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2001. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the V.F.W. He was a member of the Pampa Optimist Club where he was a major contributor for the big baseball field, and he was an umpire for many years. He sponsored a women's bowling league at the Harvester Lanes for more than 30 years. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Steven Taylor of Temple. 1 Daughter: Brenda Dearil Taylor of Pampa. 2 Brothers: Dearil Taylor of Amarillo and Don Taylor of Lake Whitney. 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Rinehart in 2003 and a son, Max Taylor in 2003.MEMORIALS: Pampa Optimist Club, 601 E. Craven, Pampa, Texas 79065
