SERVICES: 2:00 PM Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wendell Horn, Superintendent of the Pampa District of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Oler was born January 4, 1925 at Drumright, Oklahoma. He married Retha Patterson on July 4, 1943 at Drumright. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1952. He worked for Culbersons car dealership as a mechanic. He later worked for Hoechst Celanese as a unit operator for 28 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was active in the Boy Scouts and youth baseball. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II, where he served under General Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. His unit went in before the D-Day Invasion and removed the mines from the beaches. SURVIVORS: Wife: Retha of the home. 2 Sons: Ron Oler and wife Julie of Perryton, and Steve Oler of Richwood. 1 Daughter: Sandy Huddleston & husband Ernie of Pampa. 1 Brother: Ralph Oler & wife Jayne of Harrison, Arkansas. 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren.MEMORIALS: May be made to a favorite charity.
