SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM Friday, May 28, 2004, at the Woodland Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, with Rev. John McKain, pastor of the Suncrest Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. McConnell was born October 8, 1921 in Arpala, Oklahoma. She had been a longtime resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving to McAlester, Oklahoma in 1968. She resided in McAlester from 1968 until moving to Pampa in 2002. She married Woodrow McConnell on June 29, 1946 in Grayson County, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in both McAlester and Pampa.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Johnnie Marx & husband Bob of Pampa. 1 Brother: Sid Warren of Bouvard, North Carolina. 3 Sisters: Lavina Hughes of Ozark, Missouri, and Wynemia Thompson and Anna Joyce Ferguson, both of McAlester, Oklahoma.
