She had been a resident of Pampa most of her life, moving to Houston in 1996. She married Jesse Martin Clay in 1925 in Shamrock. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1968. She worked at Pantex during World War II as a foreman over 53 men. She was a Master Duplicate Bridge player at the Pampa Country Club. She was a member of the Delphian. She helped organize the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts in Pampa. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the International Order of the Odd Fellows and the Rebekah Lodge. She worked as a volunteer for the Gray County Democratic Party. She was the co-owner of Clay Transportation.SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Joan Clay Doan & husband Robert L. of Katy. 1 Son: Oscar Randall Clay & wife Jill of San Antonio. 2 Nephews: William Brian Morgan and James Allen Glasscock. 5 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren.
