SERVICES: 10:00 AM Friday, May 21, 2004, at the Faith Advent Christian Fellowship Church, with Pastor Jim Shaul of the Bloodriver Advent Christian Church of Springfield, Louisiana, and Pastor Grant Johnson of the Faith Advent Christian Fellowship Church of Pampa, officiating. BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Johnson was born August 2, 1931 in Ringling, Oklahoma. An only child, he moved with his parents, Orville Daws Johnson and Emma Edna Tipps Johnson to Shamrock, Texas in 1946. Mr. Johnson courted and married Violet J. Turnbow on January 4, 1953 in Shamrock. In 1951, he joined the Army National Guard, and after joining the regular Army in 1953, the couple moved to Selfridge AFB, MI. They returned to Shamrock in 1955, moving with their sons, Larry and Grant, to Pampa in 1965. Mr. Johnson found employment with Ethridge Claims Service where he worked until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Faith Advent Christian Fellowship. Mr. Johnson was dedicated to family and church. No matter what it took, he made sure his family was safe, secure and happy. His faith was unwavering in the face of all adversity. He conquered life with vigor and determination, and if he didn't have the answers right away, he found them. Orval Johnson had faced his final battle head on, and fought a good fight!SURVIVORS: Wife: Violet Johnson of the home. 1 Son: Grant Johnson & wife Kelly. 1 Adopted Daughter: Stacey Williams & husband Jeff. 1 Grandchild: Miah James. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Daws Johnson & Emma Edna Tipps Johnson, and Mr. & Mrs. Johnson's older son, Larry Johnson, on March 24, 1982.
