SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, April 12, 2004, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of the United Methodist Church of McLean, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Rankin was born May 5, 1914 in Bonham, Texas, to Ernest and Clara Jo Stubbs. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. degree in English. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1938. She married John L. Rankin on July 16, 1940 in Lubbock. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2000. She taught school at Briscoe for 2 years, and then taught 9th grade English at Pampa High School, retiring after 36 years of service. She was greatly loved by her students. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Pampa Retired Teachers Association, the 20th Century Club, the Top O' Texas Community Concert, and the Knife & Fork Club. SURVIVORS: 1 Brother: Wright Stubbs of Lubbock. Several nieces and nephews.
