SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Carl Novian, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Military rites are courtesy of U. S. Army personnel from Ft. Hood, Texas, with arrangements under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Jefferson Rogers was born May 2, 1922 in Hylton, Texas. T. J., as he was known to family and friends, was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He entered the service in 1940 and served in Germany until 1945. He was a member of the National Guard until the Korean Conflict where he served stateside. He married Betty Jo Hilliard on June 15, 1946 in Pampa. He worked for Cabot Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1984. In 2001, T. J. and Betty moved to Lake Kiowa. T. J. was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty, 3 brothers, Alton Rogers, Ogden Rogers and Robert Rogers, and 2 sisters, Omega Dunham and Oleta League. SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Cathy Tidwell & husband Alan of Gainesville, Debby Rogers & husband Jeff Day of Mesquite. 3 Granddaughters: Lindsay Jo Tidwell of Lubbock, Sarah Jo Day and Jolie Day, both of Mesquite. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. 7th, Amarillo, Texas 79106.SPECIAL NOTICE: The family will be at 2101 Chestnut.
