SERVICES: The body was cremated and is unavailable for viewing. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 22, 2004, at the Bible Church of Pampa, with Rev. Bob Banks, officiating. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Schakel was born September 11, 1944 in Fort Worth. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1992, moving from Ft. Collins, Colorado. She was a schoolteacher and a member of the Bible Church of Pampa. Her greatest joy was sharing Jesus to those around her. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31; "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Brett Schakel of Tucson, Arizona. 2 Daughters: Shannon Ullmann of Golden, Colorado, and Brandy Schakel of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Father: Dr. Frank Kelley of Fredericksburg. 1 Brother: Frank Kelley, Jr., of Houston. 2 Sisters: Mary Ann Wyss of Fredericksburg, and Patsy Smith of Mancos, Colorado. 1 Grandson: Noah Schakel of Tucson, Arizona.
