SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, March 5, 2004, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Military rites are courtesy of Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Minton was born October 15, 1936 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He had been a resident of Pampa for over 20 years. He married Betty Shorter in 1961 in Reno, Nevada. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Retiring Enlisted Men's Association.SURVIVORS: Wife: Betty of the home. 1 Daughter: Patricia Stone of Pampa. 1 Son: Herb Minton of Pampa. 5 Sisters: Judy Turner and Elsie Graham, both of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Lena Brunke of Ormond Beach, Florida, Mary Helen Tall of Jennings, Louisiana, and Lessie Rich of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. 1 Granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy, and a brother Ralph.
