Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Stubblefield was born March 16, 1921 at Pooleville, Oklahoma, to Jesse Lee and Jennie Stubblefield. He was a 1940 graduate of Burkburnett High School. He married Ethel Swinford on October 8, 1946 in Vernon. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. He worked as a driller for FWA Drilling Company for 24 years. He later owned and operated his own welding service, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, stationed in Germany during World War II. He served as a guard at the Palace of Justice war trials. He was a member of the Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 AF & AM for 40 years, the El Paso Scottish Rite Consistory, was past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star #1064, and a member of the Church of God. SURVIVORS: Wife: Ethel Stubblefield of the home. 1 Daughter: Janis Roberson & husband Jerry of Plainview. 1 Son: Randy Stubblefield & wife Donna of Pampa. 1 Sister: Pauline Varner of Burkburnett. 8 Grandchildren: Shelly Bragg of Plano, Ty Stubblefield and Mandy Cross, both of Pampa, Scott Shackelford and Matt Shackelford, both of Plainview, Beth Owen and Jill Mason, both of Amarillo, and Jennifer Penrose of San Antonio. 5 Great-Grandchildren.
