He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. He married Joyce Turlington on January 13, 1968 in Pampa. He worked in the oilfield most of his life. He began working for the Permian Oil Corporation in 1958 as their lead driver, retiring on January 1, 1986 after 28 years of service. He was a Baptist.SURVIVORS: Wife: Joyce Wright of the home. 1 Son: Richard Wright of Albuquerque, New Mexico. 2 Daughters: Jana Sanders of Booker, and Debbie Kraaier of Campo, Colorado. 1 Bother: Jack Wright of Aztec, New Mexico. 5 Sisters: Katherine Bybee and Lorene Cook, both of Farmington, New Mexico, Pearl Sisson and Florene Ensor, both of Aztec, New Mexico, and Lula Gates of Fontana, California. 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, James Carroll Wright and Willie Earl Wright, 1 daughter Elizabeth Kay Wright, and 1 great-granddaughter, Leah Elizabeth Sanders.
