Barbara JoAnn Koenig-Hurt

SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, Texas, with Pastor Bob Banks, of the Bible Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Koenig-Hurt was born May 28, 1944 in Magdelena, New Mexico. She married Ted S. Koenig on June 9, 1962 in Farmington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1987. She later married Jim F. Hurt on January 14, 2001 in Deming, New Mexico. She served as a special education diagnostician and administrator in numerous New Mexico school systems from 1980 until present. She owned and operated a 5-acre pecan farm in Las Cruces. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Deming, New Mexico. SURVIVORS: Husband: Jim F. Hurt of the home. 2 Sons: M. Casey Koenig of Poland, Ohio, and Robert Bret Koenig of Kimball, Minnesota. 2 Daughters: Bethany Ann Peckumn of Alamosa, Colorado, and Christy Jo Keith of Farmington, New Mexico. 2 Step-Children: Jason Lloyd Hurt of Texas, and Justin James Hurt of Las Cruces. 4 Grandchildren. 1 Sister: Georgia Pettyjohn of Seattle, Washington.
