SERVICES: 10:00 AM Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Gene Allen, retired Full Gospel minister, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Gassett was born on Oct. 5, 1917 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She married Joe Milford Chapin in 1937; he preceded her in death in 1971. She later married Robert Gassett on March 1, 1975 in Pampa. He passed away in 2002. Mrs. Gassett worked for the Skel-Tex Credit Union in Skellytown for 24 years, and she served on the Skel-Tex Board of Directors for 12 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1935 and was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church.SURVIVORS: 2 daughters: Marie Stevenson of Pinehurst, Idaho and Joyce Minor of Lewisville; 1 son: Joe Chapin of Molena, GA; 1 brother: Ralph Jackson of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Dan Chapin, in 1983, and by a grandson, Rodney Chapin, in 1983.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Briarwood Full Gospel Church, 1800 W. Harvester, Pampa, TX 79065.
