SERVICES: 10:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2004, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Dale Meadows, Church of Christ minister, officiating.BURIAL: Highland Park Cemetery in Borger, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Masonic graveside rites will be under the auspices of Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Horst was born October 22, 1912 in Madison, Kansas. He married Ina Scheck on July 20, 1940 in Madison, Kansas. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2001. He had been a resident of Skellytown since 1959, moving from Lamont, Kansas. He was a member of the Skellytown Church of Christ. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM, the Emporia, Kansas Masonic Lodge #12, the Borger Commandery #96 KT, and the Madison, Kansas Eastern Star, Chapter 350. He was a past member of the Skellytown Lodge. He retired from Sun Oil as a pumper in 1975.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: John Horst & wife Terrie of Pampa. 1 Daughter: Jeraldine Grant & husband Melvin of Amarillo. 5 Grandchildren: Kenny Horst & wife Krysti, Christi Stowers & husband Jason, Kathie Hawkins & husband Don, Trenton Grant & wife Laura, and Cindy Harper & husband Dale. 8 Great-Grandchildren.
