SERVICES: 2:00 PM Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Michael Kirby, pastor of the First Christian Church of Canadian, officiating.BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hill was born June 27, 1918 in Willow, Oklahoma, to W. C. & Zula Hill. He married Lucille Blevins on August 5, 1944 in Paris, Texas. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2003. He was a longtime resident of Canadian, moving to Pampa in 2003. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Germany in the 1289th Combat Engineering Battalion. He retired as a master sergeant E-8 after 27 years of service. He was a member, past deacon and elder of the First Christian Church of Canadian. He retired from Northern Natural Gas as a well operator after 30 years of service.SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Wayne Hill & wife Dixie of Alexandria, Virginia. 1 Daughter: Sandra Hill of Canadian. 1 Sister: Norma Combs of Pampa. 1 Brother: R. E. Hill & wife Mollie of Lamesa. 1 Sister-in-Law: Armenia Hill of Roseburg, Oregon. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. C. & Zula Hill, and 1 brother, Richard Hill.MEMORIALS: First Christian Church, 402 Parcell Ave., Canadian, Texas 79014.
