Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Rev. Evans was born October 25, 1940 in Donna, Texas. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.A. and a B.S. degree and received a masters of divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at TCU. He was ordained as a pastor in the First Christian Church in Port Arthur. He served churches in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, and served First Christian Church in Pampa, First Christian Church in Miami, and First Christian Church in Amarillo. He served as a chaplain and board member of Hospice of the Panhandle in Pampa. He was a former chaplain of the Pampa Regional Medical Center, and was a member of the Pampa Ministerial Alliance.SURVIVORS: Wife: Billie Sue Evans of the home. 2 Sons: Dr. James Evans, wife Emily and granddaughter Ellie, all of Austin; Erik Evans, wife Beth and grandson Jonah, all of Bellingham, Washington. 1 Daughter: Leigh Malloch, husband Scott and grandchildren Ansley, Colin, and Andrew Malloch, all of Chappell Hill, Texas.
