SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Smith was born on January 1, 1915 at Hood, Texas. She was a resident of Pampa from 1917 until 1945 and from 1986 to the present time. She was a 1933 graduate of Pampa High School. She married Raymond Peter Smith on February 27, 1947 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1981. She was society editor for the Pampa News for 51/2 years and was a secretary with Cabot Research and Development. She was employed for 31 years as secretary with United Carbon/Ashland Oil Co. in Borger, Houston, and finally Columbus, Ohio, where she retired in 1977.She was a member of First Baptist Church and a charter member of Pampa Community Concert Association.SURVIVORS: There are no known survivors.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
