BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Crocker was born May 31, 1923 in Burkburnett. He moved to Borger in 1925 and then to Pampa in 1929. He attended schools in Pampa, Skellytown and White Deer, graduating from White Deer High School in 1941. He married Nancy Jones in 1973 in Clarinda, Iowa. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM, receiving his 50-year pin in 1997. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, enlisting in December of 1942, and serving as a first class petty officer in the South Pacific before being honorably discharged in April of 1946. After World War II, he was a state trooper for the Department of Public Safety for four years. He then worked in the oilfield, operating an oilfield service company. He also worked in the construction business. Later, he was a corporate pilot and a certified flight instructor. He was active in aviation and belonged to the Pampa Pilots Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. He served on the Gray County Airport Board from 1980 until 1984 where he served as chairman from 1982 through 1984. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Earl Crocker in November of 1969. SURVIVORS: Wife Nancy Crocker of the home. 2 Daughters: Kathy Brown of Odessa, and Kim Jackson of Denton. 1 Son: Kent Jones of Artesia, New Mexico. Mother: Ruby Crocker of Pampa. 1 Sister: Frankie Hamilton of Dallas. 5 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren. 1 Niece: Cindy Hamilton of Dallas. 1 Nephew: Bill Hamilton of Dallas.
