SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie, Texas with Pastor Aaron Laverty of the Gageby Baptist Church, in Gageby, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Mixon was born on March 17, 1915 at Henderson County, Texas. She had lived in Canadian, Texas and moved to Mobeetie, Texas in Dec. of 1935. She later moved to Fritch, Texas in 1973, then to Happy, Texas in 1987, and finally to Lovington, NM in October of 2000. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married John Marion "Mickey" Mixon on Dec. 21, 1935 at Canadian, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charity Riddles and Joseph James Galleher, a stepfather, Henry Walter Riddles, a son, John Henry Mixon in Nov. of 1945, a great grandson, Randall James Leavitt, Jr., in July 1994, a sister, Hester Wainwright, and by 3 brothers, Johnny Galleher, Lawrence Galleher, and Lloyd Galleher.SURVIVORS: Husband: John M. "Mickey" Mixon of Lovington; 1 daughter: Omega Leavitt and husband Loyd of Happy, Texas; 1 son: Fred Mixon and wife Linda of Lovington; 2 sisters: Oca Milom of Artesia, NM and Mary Hilger and husband Francis of Wichita, KS; 2 granddaughters: Darla Davis and husband Tracey of Happy and Tammie Powell and Greg Powell of Hobbs, NM; 3 grandsons: Randy Leavitt and wife Lynn of Nazareth, Texas; Micheal Mixon of Lovington, and Ricky Leavitt of Happy; and 12 great grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Vista Care Family Hospice, 1515 Calle Sur, Hobbs, NM 88240, or to any hospice or any Meals on Wheels.
