SERVICES: Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, with Gene Gee, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Winfield was born January 1, 1925 in Cove, Arkansas. She married J. A. "Shorty" Winfield on April 12, 1941 in a corn patch in Oklahoma. She had been a resident of Lefors since November of 2002, living in Arkansas for 14 years. She and her husband served as missionaries in Swaziland, South Africa for many years, as well as pastoring in New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas.SURVIVORS: Husband: J. A. "Shorty" Winfield of the home. 4 Daughters: Joy Fulton and Sandy Hill, both of Lefors, Emily Plumlee of Jean, and Janice Parsons of Mesquite. 2 Sons: Jim Winfield of Granger and Tim Winfield of Lefors. 5 Sisters: Wanda Clark and Martille Cash, both of Mena, Arkansas, Iris Risenhoover of Shallowater, Mary Jo Bankston of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and Louise Aulston of Cortez, Colorado. 1 Brother: Howard Rhodes of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. 15 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Lee Rhodes & Flora Sims Rhodes, 1 sister Lavern, and 1 brother Otis Rhodes.
