Mr. Daniels went to meet the Lord atop the Colorado mountains doing what he loved the most on October 21, 2003.SERVICES: 2:00 PM Friday at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Gene was born June 1, 1951 in Dumas, Texas, to Cecil & Mary Williams Daniels. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked for North Plains Electric, retiring in 2000 after 19 years of service. He married Dianne O'Day on March 9, 1974. He was a member of the American Rifle Association, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War, and was president of the Vietnam Veteran's Motorcycle Club, local chapter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.SURVIVORS: Wife: Dianne of the home. 1 Son: Leon Jacobi of Amarillo. 3 Daughters: Tammy Morgan and Crystal Lewis, both of Pampa, and Sabrina Smith of Amarillo. 8 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren. 2 Brothers: Douglas Daniels of Dumas and Thomas Daniels of Shattuck, Oklahoma. 1 Sister: Cecilia Pitts of Shattuck, Oklahoma, and a host of friends.
