BIOGRAPHY: Born October 17, 1922 in Plymouth, Kansas, and had been a resident of Pampa since 1957. He was a lab technician and lab director at Highland General and Coronado Hospitals for 39 1/2 years, retiring in 1996. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. Gene will be remembered for his great knowledge, love of life, and sweet spirit. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who taught us all "the sky's the limit."SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Mary Ann Richards of Pampa. 1 Son: Joe Reed & wife Christine of Canyon. 1 Sister: Leona Burton of Fresno, California. 2 Brothers: Don Reed and Jack Reed, both of Fresno, California. 2 Grandsons: Zed Richards and Jett Richards, both of Pampa. 2 Granddaughters: Elizabeth Reed and Karissa Noack, both of Canyon. His former wife, Paulette Hinkle, with whom he remained best friends until his passing. MEMORIALS: In lieu of food or flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
