Mr. Boyd was born January 4, 1924 in Carson County, Texas and was a lifelong resident of the Texas Panhandle area. He married Ellen Davis on July 27, 1947 at the First Baptist Church in Pampa. The couple celebrated their fifty-sixty wedding anniversary with family and friends at the VA Hospital in Amarillo where Mr. Boyd was hospitalized. He was a Baptist, having been baptized at the age of nine years into the Calvary Baptist Church of Pampa. Mr. Boyd loved farming and was a self-employed farmer all his life. He also worked at many different jobs to help support his farming passion. Some of those jobs included the Pampa Post Office, the Soil Conservation Service, Bell Helicopter in Amarillo, as well as retiring from Ingersol/IRI at the age of 62, and from Titan Specialties at the age of 72. Mr. Boyd was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was preceded in death by his father William Lindsey Boyd in 1943, his mother Alta Capehart Boyd in 1998, a brother Clyde Boyd, one niece and one nephew. SURVIVORS: Wife: Ellen of the home. 1 Daughter & Son-in-Law: Brenda & David Paulson of Pampa. 1 Granddaughter: Jennifer Paulson of Amarillo. 1 Grandson: Joshua Paulson of Amarillo. 1 Brother: A. D.
