SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Jacob Clemmens, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mrs. Ellis was born May 15, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Ernest Bateman Black and Faye Bunyan Black. She attended Miss Crosby's School, Mills College, and was graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Ellis earned a teaching certificate from West Texas State University and taught English in the Pampa School District for over 20 years. She touched the lives of many people through her years of teaching and service to the community. Mrs. Ellis' husband, William Laird Ellis, a long-time employee of Celanese Chemical Company, died in 1994. SURVIVORS: 3 Sons & their wives: William Laird Ellis, Jr., and his wife Jan of McKinney, Ernest Black Ellis and his wife Cindy of Littleton, Colorado, and Robert Winslow Ellis and his wife Allyson of Amarillo. 2 Grandchildren: Ernest Black Ellis, Jr., and Emma Lynn Ellis; and a sister, Mrs. Nelson E.
