SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2003 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating.Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Stokes was born on March 14, 1942 in Vernon. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1960 and received a medical discharge in 1961. He married Linda Moore in 1962 in Pampa. He worked for Panhandle Industrial as a machinist for 30 years and later worked for the City of Pampa as a sideloader operator for 5 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Pampa Optimist Club.SURVIVORS: Wife: Linda Stokes of the home; 2 sons: Shane Stokes and wife Sandee of Pampa and Scott Stokes and wife Teresa of Meridian, Mississippi; mother: Lillian B. Stokes of Pampa; 1 brother: Danny Stokes and wife Debbie of Pampa; 5 grandchildren.MEMORIALS: Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, TX or the American Cancer Society.
