Harry Earl Hardin

SERVICES: 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at United Methodist Church in Miami, with Rev. Jerry Moore, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Gruver, officiating.<br><br>BURIAL: Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.<br><br>BIOGRAPHY: Earl was born on Dec. 3, 1930 in Miami, Texas as the only child of Harry and Alice Hardin. He was raised and attended school in Miami where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Glenda Joyce Poore. Earl and Glenda were blessed with 3 children, Rhonda Kim, Dallas Wayne, and Douglas Earl. Earl served in the U. S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran serving with the 1st Cavalry at Fort Hood, Texas, the same unit in which his grandson Clint Hardin is now serving. Earl was a member of Fairhaven United Methodist Church in Houston, the American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge. Upon his discharge from the military, Earl moved his family to Canyon, Texas where he attended and earned his BBA degree in accounting from West Texas State College. His career in accounting included 35 years as an oil and gas accountant for J. M. Huber Corporation. Earl retired from Huber in 1993. Earl's life speaks of so much more than just vital statistics. Those who knew him received the blessings of his unselfish generosity and wonderful sense of humor. Music, golf, and collectibles occupied the majority of his pastime activities. SURVIVORS: Wife: Glenda Hardin of the home; 1 daughter: Rhonda Cochran and husband Danny of Amarillo; 2 sons: Dallas Hardin and wife Shawna of Waller and Douglas Hardin and wife Marjorie of Wichita Falls; and 8 grandchildren.MEMORIALS: M.
