SERVICES: 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Dan Snider, son-in-law of Mr. Etheredge, and pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, officiating. <br><br>BURIAL: Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.<br><br>BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Etheredge was born June 27, 1921 in Temple to George & Sida Etheredge. He attended A & I College in Kingsville. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. He was employed by Celanese for 37 years, retiring October 31, 1982. He married Wanda Elizabeth Lacy on September 26, 1942 in Corpus Christi. They were married for 60 years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pampa for over 50 years. Working with wood was always a favorite pastime throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. <br><br>SURVIVORS: Wife: Wanda of the home. 2 Sons & Daughters-in-Law: George O. Etheredge, III and wife Nancy of El Paso, and Thomas Etheredge and wife Cheryl of Benton, Kansas. 2 Daugthers & 1 Son-in-Law: Londa Carol Snider and husband Dan of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Suzanne Elizabeth French of Panhandle. 1 Sister: Darlene Shipman of Boerne. 13 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins. <br><br>
